THE LIGHT OF THE MORNING SUN
K. Karloff © 2006

Some folks can’t be satisfied,
they’re busy keeping score.
They don’t care that they’re set for life,
gotta scratch their itch for more.

Ain’t no doubt that times are tough,
it’s sure to wear you down.
But, after a while, along the way,
you’re gonna find that things come ‘round

In the light of the morning sun.

It takes a man to make his peace
with a life less than his dreams.
It takes a fool to be occupied
with the objects of his greed.

No one knows what tomorrow brings
but there’s one thing within reach -
when it comes to how I feel inside
I can’t help but believe -

In the light of the morning sun.

It takes a man to hold the line
when he’s sitting Kings and Queens.
It takes some livin’ to recognize
which things are meant to be.

No one knows what tomorrow brings
but there’s one thing that’s for sure -
the sun will rise and the earth will turn,
the tide will roll to shore.
