You can see I'd already been playing for a few years as that's a Ludwig
snare drum - I'd already leveled an all-plastic Maestro and a Dept. Store
bought Japanese drum. Johnny Gale is playing a Harmony archtop with a DeArmond floating pickup.

Note my loose shirt tails and rolled up sleeves - I was already quite the ankle biter.
